Studio Mate Liana is on Tumblr now! :D This member of Bombshell Cat Studio makes FANTASTIC custom bags, scarves, wallets, and about a billion other things— generally with some sort of geeky twist. Thanks to Liana, I have a beautiful Superman oven mitt.

Lots of stuff. Going on. With life/in my head. Apparently that meant watercolors had to be experimented with from 1am on. This was really just an easy way to get used to using tube watercolors (no-pressure subject matter, I know what I look like), which are a completely different animal to me compared to pans. Amazing Winsor & Newton tubes gifted by the equally amazing Kristina, who I miss but had to give back eventually, on watercolor postcard, which will now be sent to China.

Now that we’ve got a handle on it, time for some serious projects!

Things that we're working on:

- really useful, geeky, sometimes upcycled wearable things

- custom wings for costumes and (careful) everyday wear

- practical accessories that you can beat up and not wear out (we should know…we use them all the time!)

- children’s books and coloring pages

- poetry chapbooks

- possibly some stuff for teachers learning to teach

- possibly some stuff for teachers that want fun swag for their classrooms (like posters, classroom book kits and activities, and character/author pen pals)

- super cute, sometimes also super geeky, sometimes also colorable stationary

We think that’s it for now, but there’s got to be more things we just can’t remember right now!

Ok maybe I’m crying a little right now.

Whoever you are thank you I guess I’ll be finding out in just over two days and you will end up in the comic and…yes. Yes, thank you.

The campaign has 56 hours left to go. I’m feeling empowered, and with my set of brass ones I’m going to keep asking people to help us get closer to our goal by donating here.

Then I’m going to go back to making my dinner when I’m done sniffling with tears of joy so none of that ends up in my food.

Five days left. If we can at least hit $200 I'll...I'll post a ridiculous compendium of MLP:FIM-style ponies of the whole cast.

Jone and I share an office/studio space with a bunch of friends. Ponies, Oscar Wilde, a Wild Thing, the ENTIRE cast of The Wizard of Oz, an angel, ect. Recently we have been joking that it is our version of the Pixar offices (did you guys read the recent Time magazine [… it was Time, right?] article about Pixar’s “girl problem”? Clearly all they need to do is hire us!)

Today we welcome two new members to Team Bombshell Cat: Apple Jack and Steve! We think they will be great assets to the creative team here. Don’t you?

Semi-regular health problems can sometimes put me in a lot of pain and delay our work. Today was one of those occasions, at which point one of the studio-mates:

posted a heartfelt message plugging the IndieGoGo campaign, which was much better-phrased than anything I’ve come up with so far and carried it around better than mine have yet
popped by my apartment
made me tea
brought me something when I couldn’t get up to get it myself
sent me silly pictures once she was home again
is treating me to something cheerful and food-related later tonight.

I know the best people in the world.
